We don’t tend to have pools in the back garden in the UK do we? Well, a lucky few might. But on the whole our climate makes them a luxury item and not a necessity.
But if I did have a pool (and money was no object!) it would look something like this.
Give me lush greenness over hard-edged tiles any day. I love that this pool is surrounded by springy turf and clipped hedges. I love the natural stone edge and the classical urns, and well, just about everything really. And it has a view!
Can you just imagine afternoons lolling in the deck chairs, then a little splash around watching the sun go down on the other side of the valley? Absolute bliss.
And what about this one? It could almost be in a forest but it has the same clipped hedges and what looks like a pavilion in the background. No doubt these pools would be an absolute nightmare to keep clean but who cares when it would feel as if you were swimming in a woodland glade.
And if you really did want a view this would have to be the number one favourite. I almost have vertigo just looking at the photograph.
So have a lovely weekend lovelies and if you’re spending it by the pool – lucky you.
